Developer Certification

On 1 June 2004, the VoiceXML Forum announced VoiceXML Application Developer Certification exam, which verifies baseline VoiceXML development skills. Testing is now available through the Thomson Prometric global network of testing centers, for a US $150 registration fee (except in Japan, where it costs US $175). This site provides online registration instructions a database of certified VoiceXML application developers who choose to be publicly listed and to display the certification logo, and list of training organizations that offer courses in developing speech applications using VoiceXML.

Platform Certification

The VoiceXML Forum's Certification Program certifies that implementation platforms conform to the W3C VoiceXML 2.0 specification. The goals include:

  • interoperability of platforms, voice service providers, tools, and applications
  • reduce customer confusion over language support and compatibility
  • a common test suite available to the entire industry @li certified 3rd-party independent testing. @/ul
  • The certification program is managed and developed by VoiceXML Forum members and provides impartiality through the use of independent 3rd party test laboratories.

    CT Labs was chosen by the Forum to be the first independent testing laboratory to run the conformance tests.
